Hartford Leadership

The Hartford Geriatrics Leadership Development Program, funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation in 2001, offered intensive leadership training opportunities for appointed directors of geriatric academic programs and an annual networking and educational leadership retreat for program directors who were current members of ADGAP. Phase III of the Hartford Geriatrics Leadership Grant ended in March 2013.

Retreat Program Description

The purpose of the Leadership Retreat was to provide leadership skills training sessions for geriatrics directors; opportunities for in-depth discussion of important academic geriatric issues for program and fellowship directors; small group working sessions to explore areas of common interest; and opportunities to bring together leaders from across the country.  In addition to the skills training sessions, retreat attendees had the opportunity to network and exchange ideas and information with colleagues during hosted dinners and special interest group meetings.
